Fiscal cliff potential headache for housing market?

None of us like the prospect to increased taxes and uncertainty the theater in Washington brings to the economy and more specifically the housing industry. This article  highlights some insight on how the current stalemate might impact the housing economy. On a similar note, the new starts for October were about 3,000 lower than expected, but the effect of Sandy is hard to factor in, hence I would not give too much value to this small discrepancy.  See also this article in the Business Insider.

Lastly, housing prices keep edging upwards,  as evidenced here. Some areas like Atlanta see inventories down to a 4 month supply, a level not seen since 1996.
